I spent three hours searching this morning they are getting very elusive , but we still have three Hawfinch's present at the Mere.
They are 100 mts left of the visitor's centre in small copse area on occasions dropping down into gardens behind silver birch trees. Also present in same area are six Bullfinch , three Greenfinch , Goldfinch, Siskin and three Brambling two males and a single female. On the water are nine Pochard , ten Great Crested Grebe's and a single Little Grebe.
When you say 100 mts left of the visitor's centre,is that left when facing the visitor's centre or left facing away from the visitor's centre.
ReplyDeleteFace the water from inside the car park then walk left for about 100 mts untill you reach a small copse in the field. The birds get in the silver birch trees behind the houses. Read new post on blog for more information.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. I was there before the cold snap and saw the bullfinches in the trees just passed the small pond. I gave up when it started to snow. Are the hawfinches still there.
